KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HDF Energy is seeking a committed and experienced Project Development Manager to lead our development activities in Vietnam. This role reports directly to the Director of APAC and will work in close coordination with Business Development team in the country and regional team based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The position is expected to commence in Q3 2025 and will be based in Ho Chi Minh City (preferred) or Hanoi as an alternative.
We’re looking for candidates with experience and well-versed in project development stages. The ideal candidate should also be adept at addressing topics related to project finance and / or project engineering. We welcome applicants with solid expertise in project development with background in project finance or project engineering.
Project Development :
Conduct internal assessment and identify opportunities for Hydrogen infrastructure projects in Vietnam.Work alongside with the Business Development Manager on stakeholder engagement (government authorities and potential off-takers) by preparing and / or reviewing the presentations and participating in meetings as neededWork alongside with Business Development Manager on land process (land identification, due diligence, and procurement (lease / purchase))Oversee external studies, with support from Regional and HQ teams, including the preparation of Terms of Reference (ToR), Requests for Proposals (RFP) as well as managing the bidding / procurement process and coordinating until studies are completedManage permitting processes by identifying required permits, preparing documentation, and coordinating during the permitting processConduct desk research on topics relevant to HDF’s business in VietnamCoordination :
Support smooth coordination among Vietnam teamFacilitate effective communication between Vietnam team and the regional APAC teamProject Planning and Monitoring :
Develop project plans and schedulesMonitor deadlines and provide reminders for pending tasksPossible Expansion of Scope in Project Execution
Support the project team in HQ and Asia with the procurement / tender process for EPCC contractors in VietnamAssist the project team in HQ and Asia during the construction phase of project in VietnamYOUR PROFILE
5 to 10 years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, Project Finance, preferably in the Independent Power Producer (IPP) and / or Power / Energy sectorExperience in project development, construction, and operations is preferredBackground and / or experience in engineering and finance is preferrableFamiliarity with working with private and public sector including EVN, EVNSPC provincial offices, and other relevant authorities in the power business in Vietnam is preferredTechnical knowledge and / or experience in power plants would be an advantage, but is not mandatoryHighly organized and detail-orientedProactive and solution-orientedExcellent in written and verbal Vietnamese is essentialFluent written and verbal English communication skillsThis position is open to Vietnamese nationals only and is not available to expatriate candidatesBENEFITS
