About the Role
The Manufacturing Project Manager role is responsible for planning, organising, and overseeing assigned projects from concept to completion ensuring efficient coordination of resources, schedules, budgets and stakeholder communication. This role will ensure that all aspects of each project align with the strategic goals of the organisation, support production efficiency and comply with all industry and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Development & Planning
- Conduct feasibility studies to develop and evaluate initial project concepts.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external contractors to build comprehensive project proposals.
- Ensure detailed specifications and robust vendor selection processes are completed before issuing any purchase orders.
Project Execution & Delivery
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all phases of assigned projects.Define project scope and objectives, assign work packages to suitable team members or contractors, and oversee execution.Monitor project team performance, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards.Implement and oversee quality control processes on all aspects of the project.Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain open and regular communication with project sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to improve project methods and ensure project profitability.Report on project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership as required.Monitoring & Evaluation
Develop and implement frameworks for collecting and evaluating project metrics.Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure the project remains on track.Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate success criteria, capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement.Compliance & Governance
Ensure all project activities comply with relevant codes, industry standards, policies, and procedures.Adhere to the company's compliance obligations.Actively report any compliance issues or concerns in a timely manner.Participate in mandatory compliance and safety training.Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Education :
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Project Management, or a related discipline. A professional project management certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2) is highly desirable.
Experience :
Proven experience in managing fast paced and complex manufacturing or engineering projects (ideally >
£1m budget).
