We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Accountant to lead and oversee the accounting and financial operations of our Hanoi branch. This is a senior leadership role that requires both technical expertise and strong business acumen. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local tax laws, and Group financial policies. You will also provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making by the management team and Partners.
This position is well-suited for an individual with proven experience in a professional services or multinational environment who is confident in managing end-to-end accounting operations, tax compliance, and financial governance.
You will also be involved in :
Ensuring compliance with statutory and Group requirements in Vietnam, including tax obligations, monthly and annual reporting, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
Overseeing all financial processes, internal controls, and procedures, including annual audit and year-end close; act as the main contact for external auditors and Group finance teams.
Working closely with local Partners to support profitability, efficiency, and overall branch performance.
Reporting to the Australian based Finance Manager.
One direct report.
Manage all aspects of tax compliance including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT).
Liaise with local tax authorities and ensure accurate and timely responses to inspections or audits.
Monitor budgets, expenses, cash flow, and intercompany transactions.
Prepare and maintain annual transfer pricing documentation.

About you
You will have :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Vietnam Chief Accountant Certificate is mandatory.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a Chief Accountant or equivalent senior finance role, preferably within professional services, consulting, or law firms.
Strong technical knowledge of VAS, IFRS, and Vietnamese tax regulations.
Demonstrated experience in statutory compliance, financial reporting, and taxation.
Hands-on experience with tax inspections and working directly with tax authorities.
Familiarity with working in multinational organizations and managing intercompany transactions.
Fluent English (written and spoken) and strong command of Microsoft Office.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
