Job Description :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health by managing various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Credit Card Journals : Process credit card journals from AMEX statements and Airwallex expense reports.
  • Sales Journals : Manage sales journals for concession partners across the globe and perform associated debtor reconciliations.
  • FP&A Assistance : Assist with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) processes by preparing reports for CAPEX, Repairs and Maintenance, and Visual Marketing.
  • Data Cleansing : Support FP&A by cleansing underlying data for Marketing and IT reports.
  • Quarterly Postings : Conduct quarterly postings from CAPEX to the Fixed Assets Register.
  • Weekly Checks : Perform weekly Airwallex and credit card checks.
  • Ad Hoc reports and accounting work as instructed by direct reports in Melbourne Head Office

Job requirements

Key Skills : Must-Have :

  • Language Skills : Strongly Proficient in English, both written and verbal as this is a role reporting to a finance team in Australia
  • Excel Proficiency : Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use advanced functions.
  • Accounting Foundations : Solid understanding of debits and credits and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Preferred :

  • Relevant Experience : Previous experience performing tasks as outlined in the job description.
  • Debtor Management : Experience in following up on outstanding amounts due from debtors.
  • Language Skills : Basic to moderate proficiency in French.
  • Other Desirable Skills :

  • Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Organizational Skills : Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Communication : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Team Collaboration : Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Tech-Savvy : Familiarity with accounting software and other financial tools.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
